The moon silhouette video was one of Mark Gee’s major breakthroughs. When I saw it the first time I was totally perplexed by it’s beauty and simpleness. As an engineer I immediately noticed that the video was shot with a big telephoto lens. This also implied that the shot was taken from a long distance and needed very precise planning for choosing the right position. Only a few meters of and the moon would not rise exactly behind the lookout. Also, every day the moon rises on a slightly other position and an other time. Mark worked diligently and made many attempts, before he got the perfect shot. Well done!
