SpaceX wet drop test Dragon

In december 2013 SpaceX did a wet drop test in the human rating program for the Dragon capsule. Dragon already did fly cargo to ISS, but was initially designed to also very humans to and from ISS. SpaceX is now upgrading and testing Dragon to get it qualified to actually carry humans. One of these test is a parachute test, to simulate safely deploying the parachutes after a launchpad escape scenario. In this launchpad escape scenario, the capsule is jettisoned from the Falcon-9 rocket by it’s Draco trusters to safely lands in the Pacific. Each part of this scenario is first tested separately. In this video the deployment of the parachute system is tested in case Dragon is tumbling around after being jettisoned from the launch pad.
